Frequently asked questions

Does every puzzle have exactly one solution?

Yes. Each puzzle is made from a random solved grid by removing numbers one at a time, and a removal is kept only if a solver confirms the puzzle still has a single solution. You never need to guess.

What makes Expert harder than Easy?

Easy puzzles have about 38 given numbers and can be solved by finding cells with only one possible number. Medium needs “only place in this row” reasoning too. Hard has about 26 clues, and Expert removes as many as possible and needs techniques beyond the basic singles.

How does the daily puzzle work?

The daily puzzle is built from the date, so everyone who opens it on the same day and difficulty gets the same grid. Your time is saved on your device.

Can I turn off the red mistake marks?

Yes. Untick “Show mistakes as I play” to play without help. If the grid fills up with an error, you are told that something is wrong without showing where.

Is my game saved?

Yes. An unfinished puzzle, with its notes, timer and undo history, is kept in your browser and opens paused next time.
