Files and text you use with our tools
The tools on DeskTray run inside your web browser. Files, images, documents and text that you open in a tool are processed on your device and are not uploaded to our servers or to anyone else. We cannot see, store or recover them. When you close the tab, they are gone unless you downloaded the result.
A few tools say clearly on the page that they contact an external service, for example to fetch currency exchange rates. Only the minimum data needed for that request is sent. Speech-to-text uses your browser’s built-in speech recognition, which in some browsers (such as Chrome) is processed by the browser maker’s online service.
Tools that use your camera, microphone or screen (for example the QR scanner, voice recorder and screen recorder) only start when you allow it, and recordings stay on your device until you download them.
The internet speed test exchanges test data with Cloudflare’s speed test servers, which see your IP address like any website you visit. Your results are kept only in your browser. The location finder sends your coordinates to BigDataCloud to look up a street address, and the IP lookup sends your IP address to RIPEstat. The compass, bubble level and decibel meter work entirely on your device; the decibel meter measures sound levels live and does not record audio.
Tools that use AI or text recognition, such as the background remover and OCR tools, download their models and language data from our own website the first time you use them. Your browser may keep them for later visits. Your photos and documents are not sent anywhere.
Data stored in your browser
Some tools remember your settings or notes using your browser’s local storage, for example a to-do list or the last options you used. This data stays on your device and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings.

Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider may record standard request information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the service running. These logs do not contain the files you process with our tools.
Children
DeskTray is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
