Frequently asked questions

How are byes given in a knockout?

The bracket grows to the next power of two (8, 16, 32 and so on). The empty places become byes and go to the top seeds, who move straight to round two. Seeds are spread so that 1 and 2 can only meet in the final.

How does the round-robin schedule work?

Everyone plays everyone once (or twice, home and away), arranged in rounds with the circle method so nobody plays twice in a round. With an odd number, one team rests each round.

How is the points table sorted?

By points, then by score difference, then by scores for, then by name. Set the points for a win, draw and loss to match your sport: 3-1-0 for football, 2-1-0 for cricket, 1-½-0 for chess.

Can I change a result?

Yes. Click the other team in a knockout match to change the winner; later matches that depended on it are cleared. In round robin, edit the score or choose a different result.
