Frequently asked questions

What are the rules?

Each player owns 9 coins, white or black; white breaks first. Pocketing one of your coins earns another shot. The red queen must be covered: after pocketing it, pocket one of your own coins on the next shot or it goes back to the centre. If the striker falls into a pocket it is a foul: your turn ends and one of your pocketed coins comes back to the centre. Pocket all your coins, with the queen covered, to win.

How do I aim and control the power?

Slide the striker by dragging along your baseline or with the slider under the board. Then press anywhere on the board and drag backwards, like a catapult: the line shows where the striker will go and which way the first coin it hits will travel. The further you pull, the harder the shot. Let go to shoot, or bring your finger back to the start to cancel.

How do I play carrom online with a friend?

Choose Online with a friend and press Create game, then share the 6-letter code or let your friend scan the QR code. Each shot is sent to the other phone and played out there with the same physics, so both boards stay the same. The two devices connect directly to each other.

How good is the computer?

It tries many possible shots with the same physics as the game and picks the best one. Easy misses often and sometimes picks a weaker shot, Medium plays sensibly, and Hard aims carefully and prefers shots that still work if its aim is slightly off.

Is there a points game?

Yes. Choose Points to 25: the winner of each board scores 1 point for every coin the loser has left, plus 3 for covering the queen. The first to 25 wins the match. Games against the computer and pass-and-play games resume where you left off.
