How to type in Telugu using English

  1. Type Telugu words in English letters in the left box, for example “nEnu telugu nErchukuMTunnAnu”.
  2. The Telugu text appears on the right as you type.
  3. Use capital letters for long vowels and hard sounds (A = ఆ, T = ట). See the keyboard guide below.

Frequently asked questions

How do I type ఆ, ఈ and ఊ?

Use doubled or capital vowels: aa or A for ఆ, ii, ee or I for ఈ, uu, oo or U for ఊ.

How do I type ట and త?

Lowercase t is త and capital T is ట. Similarly d is ద and D is డ, n is న and N is ణ, l is ల and L is ళ.

How do I type కృష్ణ or క్ష?

Type kRShNa for కృష్ణ. R adds the ృ vowel sign, Sh is ష, and x or ksh gives క్ష.

Can I keep an English word in the Telugu text?

Yes. Wrap it in curly braces: {Google} stays as Google.
