Examples: namaste → नमस्ते, bhaarat → भारत, kRShNa → कृष्ण, gyaan → ज्ञान. Use lowercase for names, because capitals have special meanings (T = ट, t = त).

How to type in Hindi using English

  1. Type Hindi words in English letters, for example “aap kaise hai~”.
  2. The Hindi text appears on the right as you type.
  3. Use capitals for retroflex sounds (T = ट, D = ड) and doubled vowels for long sounds (aa = आ).
  4. Copy the Hindi text.

Frequently asked questions

Type z for ज़ and f for फ़.

Why does “ram” become राम without a halant?
