Internet Speed Test
Check how fast your Wi-Fi, broadband or mobile data really is. The test measures download and upload speed in Mbps, ping and jitter, and tells you how well your connection handles streaming, gaming and video calls.
You’re offline. This tool needs an internet connection for some features. They will work again when you reconnect.
The test measures your connection to the nearest Cloudflare data centre, using Cloudflare’s open-source speed test engine. Your results stay on this device. Each direction is time-limited (15 seconds for a quick test, 30 for a full one), so slow connections don’t run for minutes. For the most accurate reading, pause downloads and streaming on your other devices.

Frequently asked questions
What is a good internet speed?
For one person, 10–25 Mbps download handles HD streaming and video calls. A family streaming 4K or working from home should aim for 50–100 Mbps or more. Upload matters for video calls and sending large files; 5–10 Mbps is comfortable.
Why is my speed lower than my plan?
Wi-Fi distance and walls, other devices using the connection, busy evening hours, an old router and VPNs all reduce speed. For the truest result, test on a computer connected by cable, or stand near the router.
What is ping and jitter?
Ping is the time a signal takes to reach the server and come back, in milliseconds. Below 30 ms is great for gaming and calls. Jitter is how much ping varies; low jitter means smooth calls without breaking up.
How long does it take and how much data does it use?
A quick test takes about 30–40 seconds and uses up to about 80 MB on a fast connection, much less on a slow one. A full test takes up to about a minute and can use several hundred MB, so prefer the quick test on mobile data.
What is the difference between Mbps and MB/s?
Internet speeds are in megabits per second (Mbps). File sizes are in megabytes (MB), and one byte is 8 bits, so 80 Mbps downloads about 10 MB per second.
Which server is used?
The test runs against the nearest Cloudflare data centre using Cloudflare’s open-source speed test engine, so results reflect your real path to the internet. Your results are kept only on your device.
