Frequently asked questions
How much is the in-hand salary for 12 LPA?
With 50% basic, 12% PF on basic and gratuity in CTC, a CTC of ₹12 lakh gives a monthly in-hand salary of roughly ₹85,000 in the new regime. It varies with your salary structure.
Why is in-hand salary lower than CTC?
CTC includes the employer’s PF contribution and gratuity, which you do not receive monthly. Your own PF contribution, professional tax and income tax are also deducted from the gross salary.
Does a higher basic salary reduce take-home pay?
Usually yes, a little. PF is 12% of basic, so a higher basic means more goes into PF (which is still your savings). Under the new labour codes, wages must be at least 50% of total pay.
